As mentioned in this UN report here, and in this article in Al-Akhbar here, Lebanon did not reply to date to the formal request of the UN Special Rapporteur on contemporary forms of slavery to carry out an official Lebanon country visit.
NGOs and international organizations should lobby to push Lebanese government to accepting the visit of the Special Rapporteur, considering that the situation of migrant domestic workers can amount to contemporary forms of slavery in the absence of legal protection mechanisms.
