The Daily Star, January 14, 2014 | SIDON, Lebanon: A Bangladeshi domestic worker fled Tuesday her Lebanese employer’s house in south Lebanon into Israel.
Nazmi Boghom, a 31-year old who works for Robert Hajj at his home in the southern border town of Rmeish, crossed the barbed wires on the border into the occupied territories in Palestine.
Patrols from the Lebanese Army and United Nations Interim Forces in Lebanon immediately arrived to check the incident while an Israeli patrol on the other side of the border was on alert.
Contacts are ongoing to return the Bangladeshi worker into Lebanon. The security forces also launched an investigation with Hajj over the reasons that prompted the domestic worker to escape.
